MASTERMINDS

In an EdLeaders mastermind, you will find connection, challenge, and growth.

How many professional development events, conferences or activities have you been to that have truly had a powerful long-term impact on your leadership or practice? If you think there has to be more to PD, then read on....

WHY MASTERMINDS?

In a school, everybody wins when the leader is better.

But being a better leader isn't always easy. Doing professional development is often easy - reading books, attending conferences, completing further study and doing online webinars. But does this occur within an environment where you feel safe to be authentic, where you experience belonging and where you are truly challenged to grow?

An EdLeaders Mastermind focuses on creating a safe place to be authentic, where you feel connected and where leveraging the collective wisdom of the group you will certainly be challenged to be a better version of you.

Edleaders in an extraordinary community to help you enhance and transform your personal and professional future.

WHAT IS AN EDLEADERS MASTERMIND?

Our mastermind groups offer a combination of brainstorming, education, peer accountability and support in a group setting to sharpen your leadership, business and personal skills. We meet on a regular basis for 60-90 minutes per session.

Your mastermind group is like having an objective board of directors, a success team, and a peer advisory group — all rolled into one.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

The group requires commitment, confidentiality, willingness to both give and receive advice and ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion.

Mastermind group members act as catalysts for growth, devil’s advocates and supportive colleagues where the intent always comes from a good place.

This is the essence and value of mastermind groups.

FOR PRINCIPALS & LEADERS

Friendly, but never Friends.

Being a Principal or senior leader in a school can sometimes be a lonely role and can lead to feelings of isolation and we all know that isolation is the enemy of excellence.

Being a leader means you can't always be friends with your staff. Friendships might open leaders up to accusations of preferential treatment and you just never know when you might need to have a difficult conversation.

You can't always speak to a principal or leader at a nearby school about your challenges, because they might be your competition and school leaders sometimes have to be protective about the sensitivities of any given situation within a school community.

An EdLeaders Principals Mastermind will strategically select school leaders from similar schools but in different geographical or contextual markets, so you can feel safe to share your challenges with people who live what you live.

As schools become increasingly complex and the challenges and expectations of school leaders continue to grow, leaders must find a way to continue to level up their zones of competency and find their blind spots.

Whilst most school leaders have a strong sense of curiosity and an inbuilt desire for lifelong learning, it's the regular check-ins and feedback from a board of trusted advisors that can really help you improve and which unfortunately missing from traditional development training.

In belonging to an EdLeaders Mastermind, you will get connection, you will be challenged and you will grow as a leader.

Everybody wins when a leader gets better.

YOUR PERSONAL BOARD OF ADVISERS

To be an effective school leader you often need advice, a critical friend who lives outside the bubble of your school who won't judge the situation, someone who understands the complexities of school communitites and will give you unfiltered advice. But these people aren't always easy to find.

They can ask the right questions to build your own sights, offer support, expand your thinking, and most of all, up your overall leadership game to help you continue to grow as a leader and person.

Everyone needs something different - mentoring, coaching, consulting or a mix of all three depending on the situation. The Mastermind gives you this opportunity to connect and grow from like minded peers on a regular basis.
