EDLEADERS BOOK CLUB
WHAT IS THE EDLEADERS BOOK CLUB?

As part of our mission to develop the best professional development for educational leaders in Australia and our vision to create authentic conversations and connections, EdLeaders Book Club is the premier private community for growth-orientated educational leaders who are motivated by purpose, committed to self-discovery and want to level up their leadership game.

The Edleaders Book Club will help you navigate the challenges and opportunities of successful school leadership. It is designed for educational leaders and provides a platform where participants can engage in meaningful discussions about selected books that focus on leadership, strategy, culture, and personal development. It is for those on the never ending search to improve themselves.

You are ideally a current or aspiring school leader seeking an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers through literature that inspires innovative thinking and effective leadership skills. Participants gain insights from diverse perspectives, which enriches their understanding and application of concepts discussed in the readings. This communal learning experience not only deepens knowledge but also strengthens networks within the educational community.

This book club will not include books on teaching strategies, pedagogy, or educational thought leadership and whilst these are super important, they are best served by other educational development initiatives.

By joining this book club you are investing in your own professional development while contributing to a culture of shared knowledge within education. This collaborative approach ultimately benefits both individual careers and the broader educational landscape they operate within through a connected community of like minded peers.

The need for safe places that can be trusted to provide acceptance, development, privacy, and compassion has never been more important. That ethos is the beating heart of the Edleaders Book Club
From that heartbeat flow our community tenets and benefits:

-
A safe place to ask questions, experiment with ideas, practice pitches, commit to challenges, and generally learn and grow without fear of judgment or rejection.
-
Relationship-building opportunities with like-minded leaders that can yield solutions to problems, lead to prosperous partnerships, and establish friendships.
-
A community that welcomes members from diverse backgrounds including race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, neurodiversity, and physical ableness.
-
A focused environment to accelerate learning and networking due to the absence of fluff content, noisy discussion channels, and immature members.
-
A privacy-first attitude toward all current and future aspects of the community.

This is where serious leaders jumpstart their futures, and it’s where they return time and again to stay sharp, make new discoveries, expand their networks, and elevate their potential.

LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES?
A little self-doubt? A little imposter syndrome? Knowledge gaps. Nobody in your school who thinks like you? No direct access to experts outside of your school. Relentless distractions from parents, students and staff. Fear of making the wrong decision. Not sure where to go next or who to ask for advice outside your current circle?

Leaders in Education battle these struggles every day. These struggles can lead to unfocused action, wasted resources, poor decision-making, and feelings of overwhelm. Faced with these struggles, it's no wonder why so many leaders burn out far short of achieving their dreams and aspirations.
This difficult terrain is all part of the leadership journey. It'll never be easy. Success will never be guaranteed. But the probability of success—building your leadership style your way — can be dramatically improved by joining forces with others who share your values system, who think more like you do and who have a common goal of becoming a better educational leader.
